Sweet and Smoky Dry Rub
Sweet and smoky dry rub is the perfect seasoning for pork or chicken. Sweet from the brown sugar and smoky from the addition of smoked paprika, one of my absolute favorite spices! I especially love using sweet and smoky dry rub on ribs or chicken drumsticks.
The recipe couldn’t be simpler. Just measure and stir 7 ingredients together and that’s literally it! You can make the dry rub ahead of time and store it in a cool, dry place so it’s ready to go whenever you need it.
I love that this is a DIY dry rub mix because not only is it rewarding making it yourself, but if you already have these ingredients, you’ll save money too. You can also choose to modify any of the seasonings and ratios to suit your personal taste.
Another thing I love about this recipe is that dry rub makes a great gift. It’s perfect for someone who likes to cook or bbq. These adorable little jars are cheap and make gift giving simple. If you like the added wooden spoon, these jars are similar to the ones I used. Now that we’re getting closer to the holidays, I’m starting to think about simple gifts like this to make for my family and friends.
Try this dry rub the next time you’re looking to turn bland pork or chicken into something incredibly flavorful and special! I hope you enjoy it! 🙂
